What is the free Microsoft Office benefit for students?

As a Microsoft customer, Curtin University is eligible to offer Office 365 to their Students at no additional cost.

Students can take advantage of the free Microsoft Office (Office 365 ProPlus) through a self-sign up process from their student office 365 account.

This will give you the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Skype for Business, OneDrive for Business.

How do I download Microsoft Office for free?

To download Microsoft Office for free:

Step 1. Go to Student OASIS and open your Curtin provided email from the 'My Email' channel on the Welcome tab.
Step 2. Click 'Office 365' in the top left corner of the page.
Step 3. On your Office 365 home page, select Install Office and follow the prompts.

If you are told you do not have a licence for the 356 software go to the Microsoft Office page and follow the prompts. Once you have completed this you can follow the above steps 1 - 3 again.

If at any stage you are asked to activate or authenticate your licence you will need to use and your OASIS password.

What devices can I use the free Microsoft Office on?

Office supports PCs and Windows tablets running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs with Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. Office for iPad can be installed on iPads running version 7.0 or higher. For information about mobile devices, visit the MS Office Mobile website.

What happens to my free Microsoft Office when I graduate?

Your free student Microsoft Office subscription ends upon graduation.

Can I install Microsoft Office for iPad?

Yes, this would count towards the limit of installing it on 5 tablets. Just install the applications and sign in with your Curtin Student ID and Password.
