Employment History

From 2012-15, Peter was the Business Capstone Unit Coordinator with the School of Marketing, Curtin Business School. In this role, he planned, designed, developed, implemented, delivered, maintained and evaluated the flagship Business Capstone curriculum for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business Assurance of Learning. Prior to this Peter was an Associate Professor in Management and Academic Program Director for the Master of Strategic Human Resource Management with the Faculty of Business and Management at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (2007-12). During 2004-7 he was a CBS Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Curtin University.

Peter has extensive human resource employment and consulting experience. This includes designing and developing innovative educational media learning materials while an Instructional Designer at Edith Cowan university, and as an Education Officer for 13 years with the Audio–Visual Education Branch, Education Department of Western Australia.

Teaching

Taught undergraduates and graduates and been a Subject Coordinator for Human Resource Management (Strategic, International, Development), Performance Management, Job Analysis, Recruitment and Selection, Organisational Theory, Organisational Structure and Design in Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Research Interests

Interdisciplinary research contributions include identifying the predictors of managers’ performance (especially job related psychological wellbeing and intrinsic job satisfaction), the impact of human resources in tourism, services marketing and Technologically–Mediated Learning.

Distinguished academic and research track record has yielded over 110 refereed publications, including 60 journal articles, 32 conference papers, 12 books and chapters. This work is widely cited and referenced in numerous international publications. Developed policy and conducted quantitative and qualitative research resulting in the publication of 38 practitioner articles and 19 technical reports.
