Brief Summary

Dr Ahmed El-Mowafy holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Calgary, Canada, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Surveying and Geodesy from Ain Shams University , Egypt.
Dr El-Mowafy joined the department in July 2008. Before joining the department, he worked as an Associate Professor in the United Arab Emirates University. Before that he was a research associate in the Geomatics Engineering Department, the University of Calgary, Canada. Dr El-Mowafy's main areas of research are Integrity monitoring and quality control of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS- GPS) apllications, precise positioning and navigation, attitude determination, integration of GPS with other sensors (e.g. IMU), machine automation, deformation analysis, and hydrographic surveying.
Dr El-Mowafy has authored a book, 2 book chapters, and published over 150 papers. He has successfully obtained 15 competitive research grants. He also has performed several consultations to the private sector and government authorities.
