Unit Withdrawal

Withdrawal is the process where you choose not to study the units you have previously enrolled in. If you wish to withdraw after the census date for a unit, you will still be liable for tuition fees and the unit will be recorded on your Academic Transcript as a WD.

How to withdraw from a unit

These steps are walked through in the Withdraw From Units Demonstration video.

  1. Click on My Enrolment
  2. Click on Withdrawal
  3. Check the tick box(es) of the unit(s) you wish to withdraw from, then click Continue
  4. On the next screen, carefully check the withdrawal information. Remember, you will be liable for tuition fees and a WD will be recorded on your Academic Transcript for any unit(s) where the census date has past
  5. If the withdrawal information is correct, click Withdraw
  6. If you are withdrawn successfully, you will see a green tick on the next screen
  7. If you wish to withdraw from more units, click Withdraw from another unit. Click View enrolled units to return to your current enrolment details.

It is strongly recommended that you print a copy of your enrolment advice and retain it as evidence that you have successfully withdrawn. If you withdraw from all of your units, you will not be able to print an enrolment advice. To check, return to your screen to ‘view enrolled units’.

Note: All classes you were registered in will be unregistered once you successfully withdraw from a unit

How to withdraw from all of your units/from your course

  1. Follow the instructions above, ensuring all units are selected for withdrawal.
  2. It is strongly recommended that you check your Current Enrolment after withdrawal to confirm that you are no longer enrolled in any units.
  3. You will now need to complete one of the following forms:
    • If you plan to continue your course in the future, you will need to submit a Leave of Absence Form.
    • If you do not plan to continue your course in the future, you will need to complete the Course Withdrawal section of the Enrolment/Change of Enrolment Form.

Both forms are available on the Quick Forms channel in OASIS.

Important withdrawal information for International students

International students studying on a student visa must be enrolled in a full-time internal load of 100 credits per semester/study period to comply with visa conditions.

If you have extenuating circumstances and want to reduce your load, you are required to seek approval prior to reducing your load by submitting a completed Request to Enrol in Less than 100 Credits in the Current Semester form, available on the Quick Forms channel (on the My Studies tab) in OASIS.
