Enrolment

Enrolment is the process where you select the units you wish to study in a particular study period.

There are three types of units:

  • Core units - these are compulsory units for your course and/or major. If you do not enrol in and pass these units, you cannot complete your enrolled course.
  • Optional units - these are units intended for your selected course and/or major. You will be required to enrol in and pass a selection of these units, the choice of which is up to you.
  • Elective units - these are units that can be from any school or department as long as the requisites have been met. While it is recommended you select units relevant to your course, they do not have to be so.
  • Alternate core units - Alternate units are a special type of Core Unit. Your Study Plan will already have a unit listed as a Core unit, however, you will be allowed you to select the alternate unit if you wish.

Note: The unit type you enrol in will depend on the study plan and enrolment advice related specifically to your course. Some courses will only have Core units, whilst others allow for multiple Optional and Elective units.

Unit Enrolment

These steps are walked through in the Streamlined Enrolment Demonstration video.

  1. Click on the My Enrolment tab.
  2. Click on Enrol in Units in the left hand menu.
  3. You may be required to agree to the terms and conditions before continuing. If so, the only button you will see is View the Terms & Conditions. Click this button and review the terms and conditions. If you agree to the terms and conditions, check I accept these terms and conditions, and then click Submit.
  4. On the screen will be a list of the units available for enrolment. This is called your Study Plan.
  5. Units are marked as Core, Optional, or Elective. The process for enrolling in core units, options and electives is slightly different, so please read the instructions for each unit type below.
  6. In order to enrol in a unit, it must be "planned". This means that it must appear on the Study Plan. Core units automatically appear on your Study Plan, but you must follow the instructions below to add options and electives to your Study Plan.

Note: Only units highlighted Teal are available for enrolment.
